Will There Be A Morning After?

There Must Be A Morning After

The mid-term elections appear to be over and to the surprise of many the ‘Red Wave’ did not occur. So the ‘many’ are left wondering why if America is headed in the wrong direction, even according to the polls that favor Democrats, did so many Democrat candidates do so well? What happened to the anger that was suppose to be welling up in this country, particularly in ‘Blue’ states and cities? The question arises, have we been fooled again and if so, who has performed this sleight of hand? Indeed, we appear to be in the throes of sympathy for the devil. Well, mama warned us not to come. Are we all in Rick’s Cafe waiting for our exit visas?

Perhaps it is time to question ourselves whether we have confidence left in our collective election systems and if not, then what must be done versus what can be accomplished, for the two appear to be greatly separate issues. Alaska is the prime example of the perils of ranked choice voting which supposedly supports the election of independent candidates and ‘breaks’ the death grip of party politics. This ‘new’ way of voting really restricts the will of the people by forcing bad choices upon them. Would Macron as unpopular as he was, in France really have won another term if not for the elevation of Le Pen to the second round of voting? This rank choice rapidly devolves into the choice of the lesser evil rather than the best candidate. This process was suppose to eliminate of candidates by a plurality and yet we see the results twice in Alaska that plurality wins. John Adams foresaw the evil of party politics and yet his solution was to appeal to the reason of the populace, a fiction created by the enlightenment philosophers who far too often took political sides of convenience.

So what’s a citizen suppose to do as he watches so many of the same list of suspects recreate their many crimes against the citizenry? We have a man whose senile dementia is on world display and whose only value is his signature on any piece of legislation or executive order, a man who is told what to say and what to do and what to sign; Woodrow Wilson returns to the white House. We have the 25th amendment but its use is in the hands of those who will not use it for they stand to lose too much of their power over this country. That is about to change as the chair of the Speaker of the House of representatives is about to pass to Republican control. On the other hand the election results are still undecided for now. We will say good by to “Good Old Joe” from Scranton next year and hello to ‘Heels Up’ Harris as our new commander in chief. Now we go from demented old man to incompetent slut, heaven help the free world. We are about to enter the “Fun House” where nothing seems real and all is distorted in one way or another. I want my quarter back.

We may think, what’s the worst the Democrats can do in the next two years? Surely control of the House will thwart their plans? The control of the Senate is still to be decided. In fact, most of this mid-term election results appear to be the product of a badly planned attempt by Langley to take over the country. There appears to be a contest among the various agencies and departments over who can do the worst job. The DOJ has inserted itself in the election counting process while our many spy agencies attempt to infiltrate the voting machines and the great host of ‘volunteer’ ballot harvesters descend on the land like a plague of locusts like God’s vengeance visited upon Egypt. One wonders if this is God’s practical joke upon a country that once valued and relied upon him. Not that I am a religious man, I claim no allegiance to any man made formal religious institution, I will not have my beliefs organized for the convenience of the clergy, let them believe what they will. No, I see a rise in the acquisition of a spirituality in these citizens, a sense of quiet belief in that which is greater than themselves, a need to believe in a transcendental spirit. For those who must have a god based religion I hold no ill will, let them believe as they like.

But for those who hold the false beliefs in man made political religion, well, they shall encounter their own sense of hell as such a belief turns sour in their mouths. Equity is no equality, intersectionality is division, not unification. And victim hood was never sainthood for it requires no other belief than that one is a victim for no other reason than personal outrage. These minds tend to forget that humans are ‘herd’ animals, we depend on cooperation for our survival. Pushing that false god of individuality is a crime against life. We are born into groups and we learn to survive within groups. We only die alone. And with any good effort we will die in the comfort of our kin and friends. Life is not about progressive values, we do not become enshrined in continuous improvement of the species or individual. This only happens in works of science fiction or Utopian writings. Does each successive generation improve? Only to a slight degree. We will never see a future where every man becomes a genius or great athlete. Nor will every man acquire a great sense of justice and harmony, for only fools wish for what they cannot define. How does one measure perfection in mankind, what is the metric to be used? The validity of a measure is that it measures what it purports to measure and its reliability is that the results are repeated.

I feel as though our country is that luxury ocean liner that has been capsized by a giant rogue wave. But unlike the film, we saw the wave coming and refused to recognize it for what it was. Has the wave hit us resulting in our being capsized? Or have we fallen into its trough just before it sweeps over out ship and plunges us under its power force.? It the Democrats maintain control of both houses then I fear our ship of state will have capsized and our struggle to regain law and order has just begun. Rule of law is greatly important for it gives us guidance in our lives, a measure of how to conduct ourselves with others, a North Star that guides us in a true direction, a moral compass from which we gather the strength of our common convictions. In the Jamestown colony there was division among the residents. Few of the colonists wanted to do any agricultural work or hunt for their meat. Those who did the work, did the hunting went to Captain John Smith and said they were tired of the other living off their labors and threatened to stop their work. Smith thought about the problem for a minute and then issued his ruling: “Those who do not work will not eat.” For those of us who have the values of hard work and rewards, good morals, and education that allows us to question ideas for their fitness, it is time to tell our captains our decision to stop supporting all those who will take all we have and leave us nothing. The parasites need to leave, to die if necessary, if the host is to survive, live, and grow strong.
